Volunteer Opportunities
The most precious gift we can give our children is the gift of learning. Your decision to bring your child to Silverwood School reflects your dedication to that gift and to your child’s education.
At Silverwood, we believe that the experiences shaping a child’s future are built through the shared efforts of parents, faculty, and staff. Our community is one of the school’s greatest strengths, and we invite all parents to take an active role in school life. Your commitment and involvement make Silverwood the vibrant, nurturing place of learning and growth that we all cherish.
This page highlights some of the best ways to get involved. To learn more, please contact the Silverwood Office — we’d love to hear from you!

Many Ways to Get Involved
School Day Helpers
One of the easiest and most rewarding ways to support Silverwood is by volunteering during the school day. Your time and energy help our teachers, specialists, and staff focus on what they do best — teaching and caring for our students — while also giving you a front-row seat to your child’s learning experience.
Some of the most-requested school-day volunteer opportunities include:
Classroom Volunteers – Assist teachers with activities, reading, or small group work.
Field Trip Drivers – Help transport students safely and enjoy an adventure with the class.
Hearing/Vision Test Volunteers – Support health screenings for our students.
Picture Day Volunteers – Help the day run smoothly for students and staff.
Community Engagement Committee
The Community Engagement Committee brings our Silverwood families together by planning, organizing, and hosting monthly events that foster connection and belonging. Creating these memorable experiences takes many hands, and there are plenty of ways you can get involved — no experience required!
Opportunities include:
Event Planning – Help design and coordinate fun, engaging activities for families.
Decorations – Add creative touches to make each event special.
Item Procurement – Assist with gathering supplies, materials, or prizes.
Event Volunteering – Support the team on the day of the event to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Volunteering with the Community Engagement Committee is a fun way to meet other families, share your talents, and help strengthen the Silverwood community.
Board Committee Service
The Silverwood School Board of Trustees values the expertise and time of community members who are interested in supporting the school’s mission through committee service. If you have experience or a strong interest in any of the following areas, we would love to hear from you:
Finance – Help oversee budgeting, financial planning, and fiscal stewardship.
Fundraising – Contribute to efforts that sustain and grow Silverwood’s programs.
Marketing – Assist with communications, outreach, and promoting the school’s mission.
Organizational Governance – Support policy development, compliance, and strategic planning.
Please contact the Board President to explore how your skills and experience can make a difference. Serving on a board committee is a meaningful way to contribute to Silverwood’s growth and success.
